Samsung Launches A Game Academy For Southeast Asia Gamers
Samsung has announced the launch of its gaming academy, aptly titled the Samsung Galaxy Gaming Academy, for the benefit of Southeast Asia gamers and would-be developers everywhere looking for a chance to shine.
The Galaxy Gaming Academy focuses on the twin themes of nurturing up-and-coming talent and building a unique community of gamers spanning different backgrounds. Across the region, anyone with a passion for gaming can join as members of Galaxy Gaming Academy and gain exclusive access to programs such as community-bonding activities, educational and training content, as well as in-game rewards from local gaming partners.
Where is this all happening first in Southeast Asia? The Galaxy Gaming Academy will start with Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore, with additional launches planned in the rest of the region.
Here’s a quote from the academy and Samsung’s regional head of Mobile Experience Business Carl Nordenberg:
“We are incredibly excited to introduce the Samsung Galaxy Gaming Academy to all our fans in the region, to unite and nurture a unique community of gamers from all walks of life. We believe that gaming should be accessible for everyone and hope to enable more memorable mobile gaming experiences through the Galaxy Gaming Academy.”
Being a mobile phone company making all the high-end smartphones, future attendees will definitely be using the latest Samsung-sponsored gear to level up their game and learn things like being an enthusiast, making content, and so forth. It’s essentially a glorified ambassador program to find the next spokesperson they can pay with non-credit and non-cash sponsorship, though we’re sure Samsung will find a couple of willing folks given the brand’s prestige.
