Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty Essential Quests & Tips
Cyberpunk 2077, the 2020 scifi RPG, is getting a major expansion and a 2.0 update. Think of it as a big relaunch for the game; old players will find new content to check out while new players will get to experience the best version of the RPG.
If it’s your first time, rest assured that this guide will break down what you need to do when you start the game. Here are some tips when exploring Night City in 2023.
Cyberpunk 2077 received a major 2.0 update that changes up the progression system. Not only that, the level cap is now bumped up to 60. This means more flexibility in making your perfect build, be it an aggressive one or a nethacking-focused one.
To be a heavy hitter who can use shotguns and blunt weapons, focus on Body and Tech. If you play stealth, focus on Intelligence and Cool.
Just remember: you can refund perk points, but you can only reset attribute points once.
All ripper docs in the game have full inventory, meaning you don’t need to visit every single one in different parts of Night City to get what you need. There are now fewer limitations for using cybernetics; the only thing you need to worry about are the capacity costs of each cybernetic. This is determined by the perks you have; investing a lot in Tech tree means you can equip more.
After you’re done with the first major mission, you’ll get a call from Delamain to go pick up your car. When you start your car, you’ll get rammed by a crazy auto taxi. This will start a chain of quests where you have to hunt down a bunch of driverless cabs. Do these quests all across the map. You’ll get a good story and some nifty rewards for your trouble, like a Type-66 Hoon car you can rob along the way. Hint: this one’s at Northside in Watson (closest fast travel is Offshort St and Longshore North).
You’ll find these NCPD icons scattered throughout the map. These small missions require you to take down gang members and collect evidence, along with sweet loot and street cred. When possible, just do these: they take only a short while to complete and are usually low effort.
YOu’ll get a new contact during your Night City misadventures, a NCPD detective named River Ward. This quest has a pretty good story with a dark twist, and you get to be buddies/lovers with River Ward in some of the game’s wholesome scenes.
Don’t sell all the loot you collected along the way. You should disassemble half of what you receive to get components. Thse components will be used to upgrade your existing weapons. The higher tier components you get from dismantling, the better the upgrades you can give your weapons.
You can only access the Phantom Liberty DLC after you’re done with the Voodoo Boys questline in Pacifica. After all, the new area Dogtown is located within the district.
When possible, you should do air drop missions. These frequent small missions are new additions from Phantom Liberty: head to the set point where the air drop is happening and kill everything and anything in your way. These Air Drop missions feature bountiful eddies and crafting components you can use, as well as high-tiered guns depending on what’s available in the air drop pool. In any case, these missions are plentiful and should be taken if you need quick cash and resources.
