The Best LEGO Sci-Fi Sets To Own

LEGO sets are indeed magical and wonderful displays of craftsmanship meant for showing off, due to how accurate they are to whatever they’re portraying. From spaceships to made-up fantasy ninjas, to even Lunar New Year auspicious dragons, you can’t go wrong when you’re putting down lots of money for hardy Danish toy bricks.

In our latest ever-persistent LEGO features, we’ll be sharing our favourite sci-fi LEGO sets, be they old or very, very recent. Here they are:

10300 LEGO Icons Back to the Future Time Machine (RM849.90)

You don’t need to go 88mph to see some serious s*** from LEGO; just RM849.90! This LEGO replica of the iconic Time Machine (read: a souped-up plutonium-powered Delorian) is as accurate as you can get and will fit right at home with your other sci-fi collections.

The Back to The Future Time Machine comes with the iconic lightning rod, plutonium chamber, a Mr Fusion addition and fold-down hover conversion tyres, and whitewall tyres and hood-mounted circuit board attachments, all from the trilogy. The eclectic set also comes with a Doc Brown and Marty McFly figure, with the latter bringing his pink Hoverboard from the second film.

76269 LEGO Marvel Avengers Tower (RM2099.90)

Here it is: Marvel’s recent big one. Earth’s Mightiest Headquarters!

This giant LEGO structure is the best recreation of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Avengers Tower, complete with a huge ensemble of superheroes & supervillains like The Hulk, Loki, and the Chitauri alien army.

Boasting 5201 pieces, a height of 90cm, and action on every floor, the LEGO Avengers Tower is a surefire piece that looks so darn good and accurate, that it’ll wash away the disappointment and sting from the recent slew of 2023 MCU movie bombs and superhero fatigue.

10316 LEGO Icons The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell (RM2,099.90)

The construction of the Elf refuge of Rivendell, a remarkable recreation inspired by The Lord of the Rings, stands as one of the largest and grandest sets ever produced by LEGO. With an astonishing number of over 6,000 pieces, it ranks as one of the top 10 largest LEGO sets ever created. This intricate masterpiece faithfully captures the essence of the mystical Rivendell, meticulously incorporating authentic details such as an elven forge, the room where Frodo recovers from his wounding encounter with the Nazgûl at Weathertop, and the iconic Council of Elrond.

The set boasts an impressive array of 15 mini-figures, each representing beloved characters from the epic fantasy series. Fans will be delighted to find Frodo, Sam, Bilbo Baggins, Boromir, Gimli, Aragorn, Legolas, Gandalf the Grey, and many others.

For hardcore fans of The Lord of the Rings, LEGO Icons The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell is a must-have addition to their collection. It not only celebrates the iconic Rivendell setting but also offers hours of imaginative play and storytelling. Whether you choose to immerse yourself in the intricate details or simply marvel at the grandeur of this monumental set, this LEGO creation is sure to leave a lasting impression on anyone who sets their eyes upon it.

10302 LEGO Icons Optimus Prime (RM829.90)

The LEGO Icons Optimus Prime set is here to awaken your passion for the Transformers. This iconic set consists of over 1,500 pieces and can be transformed into a robot and a truck, just like in the cartoon series and movies. With its toy-accurate detailing and sturdy construction, this set is perfect for both play and display.
With its ability to provide hours of entertainment for both kids and adults, this set truly captures the essence of Optimus Prime. The set includes various accessories, such as an ion blaster, an energon axe, and a jetpack, which further bring the leader of the Autobots to life.

The LEGO Icons Optimus Prime set is not only a toy but a work of art. It embodies the spirit of Optimus Prime and is the perfect addition to any Transformers collection. Whether you’re looking to have endless playtime or one who appreciates intricate detailing, this set has something for everyone.

10327 LEGO Icons Dune Atreides Royal Ornithopter (RM799.90)

The good guy faction of Dune does love to travel in style on the treacherous lands of Arrakis. This is very apparent in the LEGO Royal Ornithopter. Featuring 1369 pieces, realistic fold-out-and-flap wing functions, flight mode, and a detailed cockpit, this sleek sci-fi piece of flying magnificence is as authentic as you can get to the 2021 movie adaptation of Frank Herbert’s masterpiece.

The RM799.90 set also comes with the Atreides faction: Paul Atreides, Lady Jessica, Gurney Halleck, Chani, Leto Atreides, Liet Kynes, and Duncan Idaho.
