3D platformer fans and late 90s polygon platformer aficianados rejoice: developer Evening Star (led by Christian “Sonic Mania” Whitehead) has release its new game Penny’s Big Breakaway, and it’s charming as heck!

The 3D platformer game features a young performer named Penny who is mad skilled with a yo-yo powered with a cosmic thread, meaning she can ride it onto ramps, use it as a makeshift swing and grapple onto ledges, and gain yo-yo powerups that turn your swinging tool into magical game-breaking tools like a heavy brick-breaking yo-yo! The game can get tough and tricky, especially if you haven’t played 3D platformers in a while.
