Black Ops 6 Targets AFK Players & VPN Cheats

With the release of Black Ops 6’s Season One update, developer Treyarch is taking a firm stand against disruptive in-game behaviour, focusing on cheaters and idle players. Key updates address multiplayer issues, including enhanced detection for AFK players who try to boost their XP unfairly.

The update also introduces more precise ping checks to catch players using VPNs to hop between server regions, often to gain a matchmaking edge. For Ranked Play, there’s a notable change: players must now complete 50 multiplayer matches to access Ranked mode, a move Treyarch says will both ensure experience and give #TeamRICOCHET a solid match history to review for fair gameplay.

Treyarch has also implemented a Replay Investigation Tool to monitor top players, and these anti-cheat efforts will expand to Warzone later in the season.

Season One is now live, offering three new multiplayer maps, fresh game modes, new weapons and attachments, and a Battle Pass packed with unlockable items.
