Overcooked Devs’ Showcase New Chaotic Co-Op Adventure, Stage Fright

The geniuses behind Overcooked, Ghost Town Games, have teased their next chaotic co-op project: Stage Fright. Revealed at The Game Awards, this two-player adventure promises to bring the same frantic energy as its predecessor—plus a fresh twist.

Stage Fright is being developed in partnership with Hello Games, the studio behind No Man’s Sky, which will also handle the game’s publishing. The two studios have spent five years crafting this spooky yet magical experience, squeezing in development time between updates for Overcooked.

Hello Games describes Stage Fright as a mash-up of Overcooked’s mayhem and escape room teamwork. Expect heart-pounding, co-op-driven gameplay that will challenge players to work together offline or online. The setting is a charming, spooky world, drawing comparisons to Luigi’s Mansion, but with an added touch of emotional depth—moving away from the quirky antics of Overcooked to a more heartfelt story.

While we’ll have to wait a bit longer to dive in (expect more news over the next year), it looks like Stage Fright is shaping up to be another memorable chapter in the Overcooked devs’ legacy of co-op chaos.
