Here’s A Look At More Kemuri Gameplay Through The Most Unorthodox Yet Sweet Video Moment
Tokyo game developer Unseen is hard at work on its new action game Kemuri, though the company has time to arrange this sweet moment while showing off bits of the game’s town hub.
Kemuri’s lead level designer Shane Canning wanted to propose to his girlfriend in the best way possible. So he planned the idea with his team and his boss Ikumi “Best E3 moment 2019” Nakamura to invite his girlfriend Makiko to playtest the game.
In the gameplay slice, Makiko was asked to talk to people in Kemuri’s non-combat area in what we assume is the game’s town hub, complete with funky-looking NPCs to talk to. After a brief bout of coaching from Shane, she finally talked to a stylish-looking NPC in-game, who then gives her an item. Little did Makiko knew that Shane had something in his pocket: a wedding ring.
She said “yes” after Shane popped the question. Nakamura added that this is the reason why Makiko’s boyfriend has been late coming back to his home. You can see the touching moment on video below, complete with subtitles & play-by-play.

Something this nerve-wracking definitely takes a lot of planning and things can go south: this is a build of a game that has yet to see the light of day and the proposed might have a different answer.
In spite of all these factors, it all worked out, and we get to see bits of Kemuri’s town hub area. And we’ll probably get the special item pose from the NPC as an emote to commemorate this special occasion once the game comes out lord-knows-when.
