[Report] We May Be Getting An Overwatch 3 & A StarCraft FPS…

Game publisher and developer Blizzard is allegedly cooking something with Nexon.

According to reports from Korean website MTN, Nexon will be making a new StarCraft game and a mobile version of Overwatch. The latter has been called Overwatch 3 internally, which may mean that the upcoming game will bridge the gap between the current version and the mobile version.

“Blizzard has been bidding since the fourth quarter of the last year for major Korean game companies, offering content development rights using the ‘Starcraft’ IP and the Korean and Japanese service rights for Overwatch Mobile as a package deal.”

Last year, Blizzard was advertising for several jobs for an upcoming StarCraft game, but instead of real-time strategy listings, the job ads were referencing an “open-world shooter game”. So there’s a chance that the new StarCraft game’s genre might be that instead: a shooter in an already-saturated landscape.
