Two mass shootings recently happened in the United States so it’s not too alarming to see Americans being very anxious about more of them happening. According to Business Insider, several Twitch employees came across a tweet threatening to perform a shooting at the Twitch headquarters in San Francisco.
According to a company representative, they became of aware of the threat on Tuesday 6 August 2019 and employees were given the option to work from home on Wednesday 7 August 2019.
The San Fransisco Police Department (SFPD) quickly responded to the issue and by Wednesday afternoon, they determined that there was no longer an “active threat” at Twitch HQ.
“We don’t have any suspect or know how credible the threat is at this time,â€
– Officer Adam Lobsinger, San Fransisco Police Deparment.
Investigation of the matter has been passed to the SFPD’s special investigations department.
