Evos Esports SG Breaks Curse To Win MPL MY/SG S4

The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) MY/SG Season 4 Playoffs has concluded this weekend (from 19 and 20 October 2019 at KL Live, Life Centre), with Singaporean team Evos Esports SG emerging as the champions and bringing home a lion’s share of the total prize pool (US$50,000) with a whopping US$25,000 (RM104,000+).

In the two semi-final matches, Todak defeated Evos Esports SG with a comfortable 2-0 win to grab a spot in the MPL MY/SG Season 4 Playoffs Grand Finals, while Axis Esports succumbed 2-1 to Singaporean team Resurgence.

Little Red Revenge

In an exciting turn of events, this resulted in an all-Singaporean lower-bracket match between Evos Esports SG and Resurgence, to determine not only who will be advancing to the MPL MY/SG Season 4 Playoffs Grand Finals, but also the Singapore representative for the upcoming Mobile Legends: Bang Bang World Championship (M1).

Evos Esports SG proved to be the better Singaporean team of the two, dominating with a 2-0 win over Resurgence. Just like the MPL MY/SG Season 3 Playoffs Grand Finals, we were once again treated to another intense Malaysian/Singaporean showdown, but this time it’s between Todak and Evos Esports SG.

During the best-of-five Grand Finals, Evos Esports SG ultimately emerged victorious 3-2 after five gruelling and taxing matches against Todak, successfully breaking their Grand Finals curse (after losing to Geek Fam in the MPL MY/SG Season 3 Playoffs Grand Finals) and becoming the first Singaporean team to be the champions since IDNS SG back in Season 1.
