AESF e-Masters Chengdu Organisers Releases Statement Regarding Coronavirus Outbreak
By Burhanudin Zamri|January 28, 2020|0 Comment
We’re still in January and 2020 is already shaping up to be one hell of a depressing year. Just yesterday we lost Kobe Bryant, his daughter, and a few other people in a helicopter crash and as we speak, a new strain of coronavirus dubbed the 2019-nCoV is infecting people in almost every major country around the world.
The country that’s being hit the worst is China, where the 2019-nCoV is suspected to originate from. In light of this, the Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF) has issued a statement regarding the upcoming AESF e-Masters Chengdu which is set to take place in late February.
The e-Masters haven’t been cancelled or postponed yet but the AESF says that they’re working closely with authorities and relevant health organisations to make a decision. The AESF Local Organising Committee (LOC) and Member Associations are also involved in the discussion.
Scheduled to take place in Chengdu, China from 22 February to 1 March 2020, the AESF e-Masters has participants from 11 countries. This includes Singapore, Japan, and Thailand which have all reported confirmed cases of 2019-nCoV.
