Mario Kart Tour Mobile Is Getting Real-Time Multiplayer Next Week

Nintendo has announced that Mario Kart Tour for Android and iOS will be getting its new real-time multiplayer mode worldwide on 9 March 2020 at 2pm AEDT (or on 9 March 2020 at 11am GMT+8 for Southeast Asian countries like Malaysia).

Players who update their Mario Kart Tour game to the latest version will be able to participate in real-time multiplayer races, where they can race against other players in the same area, nearby or online.

With real-time multiplayer, players can participate in Standard Races to compete against other Mario Kart Tour players around the world based on an ever-changing set of daily rules. Players can also choose to create or join a Lobby Match, based on their own custom set of rules.

In addition, Gold Races will only be available to Mario Kart Tour Gold Pass subscribers, where players can race at even faster speeds that require advanced manoeuvres to challenge other competitors.

For those looking to turbocharge their experience, the Mario Kart Tour Gold Pass is an AUD$7.99 (or RM22+) per month subscription service that unlocks 200cc mode, as well as provide in-game gold gifts for racing in tours and special in-game badges from gold challenges.

However, Mario Kart Tour Gold Pass is not required to play the game, participate in Standard Races, or to play against other players in the new real-time multiplayer mode. Keep in mind that a Nintendo Account is required to play Mario Kart Tour. If you don’t have one, you can register here.

  1. Smurfs Kart Announced For Consoles & PC This August | Kakuchopurei

    May 16, 2023 at 6:09 pm

[…] The racing game announced a local multiplayer option, up to 4 players in a single race. We have yet to hear news of it adding real-time multiplayer mode which would be easier to race against friends and family. On a positive note, perhaps it’s a more party game-oriented genre instead of following the usual kart racing modes such as the Mario Kart Tour. […]
