Nintendo DS Classic The World Ends With You Is Getting An Anime

Square Enix just launched a websitefor the anime adaptation of The World Ends With You, a Nintendo DS RPG with character artwork from Tetsuya Nomura.

The original 2007 title is about a kid named Neku who has to team up with a bunch of kids to participate in a death game that will determine their fates within 7 days. The game itself features really unique combat that uses two of the DS’ screen simultaneously. Neku and his allies have different fighting mechanics that made regular and boss battles all the more entertaining and challenging.

The soundtrack is also bangin’, with tracks like these to keep in line with the contemporary setting.

We’re guessing the anime will be a 24-episode show that deals with the RPG’s main plotline. We’ll find out more on 4th July 9am GMT+8; here’s the teaser poster from Square Enix, all set for this year’s Anime Expo online showcase.
