They are finally here! All 17 new hero skins – including those teased at BlizzCon 2017 – which were set to be available on base lootboxes following Overwatch’s latest cosmetic update are all now in the game. Following a huge update earlier today, you can start receiving these awesome hero skins – 5 Epic and 12 Legendary – from your standard lootboxes for unlimited time. Better yet, the Legendary ones are priced at 1000 coins each, making them much more obtainable for everyone.
We could just show you these new skins, in case you haven’t seen them but where’s the fun in that. So we’ve decided to rank these skins based on their uniqueness, cool-factor and overall design.
17. Symmetra – Could have just added this as part of the base colors. Nothing astounding here
16. McCree – Bland and unimaginative – easily one of the weakest of the lot
15. Junkrat – A good option for San Francisco Shock fans due to his color scheme.
14. Torbjorn – Makes Torbjorn look like an uncredited extra from Thorin Oakenshield’s band of dwarves
13. Zenyatta -Here’s a cheaper (and cooler) option to Houston Outlaws’ Zenyatta skin.
12. Reaper – Too much like that biker skin from the Halloween event We get it, Reaper. You’re a tough SOB
11. Lucio – We wish they released this during the summer games.
10. Orisa – Our favorite Omnic gets a thorough makeover. We like.
9. Mei – Our favorite Mei skin to date – also the cutest one. We knew this one was coming from her animated short.
8. Doomfist – Not a Doomfist fan but this one ticks all the boxes for the game’s main protagonist.
7. Widowmaker – Our favorite Terran in Overwatch. How can we not spend 1000 coins for this?!
6. Hanzo – A skin that even Hanzo’s biggest haters will come to love. Aces all around
5. Roadhog – The scariest hulking mass of muscle is now ten times scarier
4. Zarya – The designers at Blizzard are again most kind to our favorite Russian
3. D.Va – Maid outfit. Cat ears and tail on her MEKA. Easily the best D.Va skin to date
2. Reinhardt – Finally a skin representing Reinhardt in his (hair) prime. Glorious detail all around
1. Pharah – Imagine pairing this skin with a golden weapon
