[Report] Apex Legends Is Getting NPCs & A Flamethrower

While we wait for Respawn to release the battle pass, we are served with another tantalizing leak.

Data miners have been toiling and have found a few points of interest in the game code which refers to what seems to be an Apex Legend NPC, and amongst other things, a flamethrower. Yes, a flamethrower.

Data miner RealApexLeaks found some files that indicated that a flamethrower-based weapon might be added into the game. Another interesting piece of data mined within the files is a deployable remote turret. All these leaks were followed up with a tweet about a leaked NPC code that contained actions such as disabling turrets, completing assaults, or using cover.

The leaks imply that there might be a new layer of strategy involved in Apex Legends as the NPCs might be capable to perform complex actions, downright putting them within the lines of being a teammate.

It’s also speculated that these leaks might be part of a new game mode, or replace teammates who disconnect mid-match.

These leaks might point to another game mode, as speculated before, bringing a whole new dimension to the game. Possibly even rivalling that of Fortnite with its Save The World mode.

Whatever it may be, we should wait for more confirmation as a leak is still a leak; something that should be taken with a grain of salt.
