#10. Guardians of the Galaxy

After the first Iron Man movie, Guardians of the Galaxy was the movie that many were predicting to be the first box office bomb for the MCU. Why? Because this group of misfits was obscure even in the hardcore comic book community. Thanks to James Gunn and the entire cast of actors, the movie was a big hit and indicated that the MCU could elevate even the most unknown comic book property. DC, take note.

Its unique blend of humour and action in a quirky sci-fi setting was exciting and appealed to everyone despite their unfamiliarity with the property. Many movies have since tried to emulate Guardians of the Galaxy’s style, most recently seen in Thor: Ragnarok.
