#9. Batman: Arkham Asylum Glitch?

In the midst of Batman-ing your way around the asylum, the game suddenly glitches out, the screen tears and the audio goes bonkers, and then the whole thing shuts down.

The game then abruptly starts back up again from the beginning, only now Batman’s in a straightjacket and Joker’s taunting him with Harley Quinn in tow, and it’s not until Scarecrow pops up that you realise what’s happened. This fear toxin business never gets old, and certainly helped to cement this scene as one of the most shocking, out of nowhere moments in a video game yet.
