The art of war is strong with this iteration of Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
Total War: Three Kingdoms has garnered a player count peak of 191,816 within 24 hours, which is the largest number for a game launch this year. For comparison’s sake:
- Sekiro‘s player count peak was at 124,334, placing the tough-as-nails game in second place for Steam PC game launch numbers.
- Capcom’s Devil May Cry 5 peaked at 88,000, while the Resident Evil 2 remake was at 74,000.
- Total War: Rome II had an all-time peak of 118,240, while Total War: Warhammer was at 111,909. This effectively puts Total War: Three Kingdoms as the de facto leader in the series.
Currently, Total War: Three Kingdoms is on the PC distribution platform’s top five games list. It’s behind Dota 2, PUBG, and CS:GO, but well above Rainbow Six: Siege, GTA5, and Warframe.
Furthermore, it’s also the most pre-ordered game in the series thanks in part to its Chinese players according to a tweet from analyst Daniel Ahmad.Â
