[Report] Captain Marvel’s Co-Pilot To Be Next 007 In Bond 25

The first female 007 might be making her official debut really soon, in the upcoming Bond 25 movie.
According to the Daily Mail UK, insider sources have revealed that Captain Marvel actress Lashana Lynch will be replacing Daniel Craig as the next Agent 007 of MI6 in the James Bond franchise.
“There is a pivotal scene at the start of the film where M [played by Ralph Fiennes] says, ‘Come in 007,’ and in walks Lashana who is black, beautiful and a woman.
It’s a popcorn-dropping moment.
Bond is still Bond but he’s been replaced as 007 by this stunning woman.”
The insider source continued by saying that Daniel Craig’s James Bond will try to seduce the new female 007, albeit unsuccessfully (at first). Lashana Lynch broke into the limelight after portraying Maria Rambeau (Carol Danver’s co-pilot and best friend) in Captain Marvel earlier this year.
In addition, the insider source claims that the popular phrase ‘Bond girls’ has been forbidden, as the cast and crew now have to refer to these characters as ‘Bond women’ instead.
The new Bond girl, or Bond woman, in Bond 25 is set to be played by Ana de Armas, best known for starring in 2017’s Blade Runner 2049 as the love interest of Ryan Gosling’s protagonist.
It remains to be seen if there is any truth to this insider source report. Knowing the Daily Mail and its tabloid tendencies, let’s take this with a grain of salt. Much of Bond 25 still remains shrouded in secrecy.
The official synopsis for Bond 25 states that Daniel Craig’s 007 has left active service but is forced to put his retirement on hold for another desperate mission.
While it could be true that Lynch’s character is the new 007 at the start of the movie, she could just be there as a placeholder of sorts to show that MI6 has replaced Bond with a new agent. The rest of the movie could potentially just shift the focus on Daniel Craig’s 007.
This all sounds like a fishy attempt at getting more positive attention for Bond 25 by pushing politically-correct agendas (like a black female 007), amidst worrying reports of various problems plaguing the movie (on-set mishaps, injuries and more).
Bond 25 is slated to release worldwide on 3 April 2020. In other related news, Aston Martin recently celebrated the James Bond franchise by showcasing actual Bond cars at the British Grand Prix last weekend.
