Zombieland 2 Trailer Features Returning Cast A Decade Later

It’s rare that the entire original cast of a cult classic movie would often return for its sequel, especially so when it’s getting released a decade later, but that’s what’s happening with Zombieland: Double Tap. Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin are all back for the highly-anticipated sequel to 2009’s Zombieland.

A lot has changed for the returning cast after ten years. Emma Stone is now an Academy Award-winning actress (Best Actress for 2017’s La La Land), Jesse Eisenberg went on to star in 2011’s The Social Network (and nominated for an Academy Award), and Abigail Breslin is now a 23-year-old adult (she was 13 in 2009).

Not only are the original cast back, but also the same director (Ruben Fleischer) and writing team (Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick). The cast is growing beyond the fearsome foursome too, with the addition of Madison (Zoey Deutch), the handsome Berkeley (Avan Jogia), and the kickass Nevada (Rosario Dawson) into the mix.

The official description for Zombieland: Double Tap reads:

“Through comic mayhem that stretches from the White House and through the heartland,

these four slayers must face off against the many new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie,

as well as some new human survivors.

But most of all, they have to face the growing pains of their own snarky, makeshift family.”

Prepare for more outrageous ways to kill zombies, as Zombieland: Double Tap is slated to premiere on 18 October 2019. In the meantime, check out the trailer below.
