Control Is Getting Photo Mode & Motion Blur Toggle In Future Updates

Remedy Entertainment has revealed their post-launch content plans for Control in a recent community news post. The next Control update is now slated to arrive sometime in mid or late September.

The next Control update will add a motion blur and film grain toggle, which will allow players to turn off the motion blur and film grain effects if they so choose. This will arrive on all platforms.

In future updates, Remedy plans to fix the map loading issue, which prevents the map from loading properly and often causes the game to lag horribly when viewing the map on-screen during gameplay.

In addition, many players have suffered from performance problems on the PS4 and Xbox One, especially when the action gets frantic in combat. The developer is looking to address the issue, and will seek to improve console optimization in future updates, but admits that it will take some time.

Remedy also confirms that the game will not feature the option for HDR visuals, due partly to limited resources and the fact that they want to focus on other free content like a Photo Mode in Control.

As you can see, Remedy plans to support the game well into the future. That’s good news, seeing as Control is one of the best gaming experiences in 2019 so far, and potentially even a GOTY candidate.

In the meantime, check out our review of Control here to find out why the game is so well-praised. Control is now available for the PC (exclusively via the Epic Games Store), PS4, and Xbox One.
