Red Dead Redemption 2 PC Specs Point To It Being The Definitive Version

With the PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 releasing next month, Rockstar Games has finally revealed the spec requirements for the upcoming game, as well as new content and features that will presumably be coming exclusively to that platform.

According to Rockstar, here are the Red Dead Redemption 2 PC specs:

Minimum Specifications:

  • OS: Windows 7 – Service Pack 1 (6.1.7601)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-2500K/AMD FX-6300
  • Memory: 8GB
  • Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 770 2GB/AMD Radeon R9 280 3GB
  • HDD Space: 150GB
  • Sound Card: DirectX compatible

Recommended Specifications:

  • OS: Windows 10 – April 2018 Update (v1803)
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-4770K/AMD Ryzen 5 1500X
  • Memory: 12GB
  • Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GB/AMD Radeon RX 480 4GB
  • HDD Space: 150GB
  • Sound Card: DirectX compatible

You’ll need a heck ton of space to install Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC, but at least the spec requirements are modest enough, especially for a massive open-world game like this. The improvements and new content added to this version of the game also means that it is essentially the definitive version of the game (sorry, console folks).

Here are the technical enhancements and new content in Red Dead Redemption 2 PC:

  • Increased draw distance
  • “Higher quality” global illumination and ambient occlusion
  • “Improved” snow trails
  • “Improved” reflections and higher resolution shadows
  • Tessellated tree textures
  • “Improved” grass and fur textures
  • HDR support
  • Unlocked resolution (4K and higher)
  • Ultrawide aspect ratio and multi-monitor support
  • Unlocked framerate
  • Three new Bounty Hunter Missions
  • Two new Gang Hideouts
  • Two new Treasure Maps
  • Four new weapons: M1899 Pistol, Evans Repeater, High Roller Revolver, Le Mat Revolver
  • Seven new horses: Few Spot Appaloosa, Perlino Andalusian, Red Chestnut Arabian, Buttermilk Buckskin Kentucky Saddler, Liver Chestnut Morgan, and Gold Palomino Tennessee Walker.
  • There’s also a new mission called, “To The Ends of the Earth.”

Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC comes out on 5 November 2019.
