Street Fighter V X Pocky = Ridiculously Hard Challenge
Capcom and Glico are teaming up to bring you one of the more absurd yet thrilling contests for fighting game fans which involves online matches and Pocky sticks.
Here’s how the brilliantly-dubbed Pocky K.O. Challenge works, voiced by James Chen at his shilliest:
- During an online match, players must allow their health to be reduced to the point where the health bar matches the chocolate-to-biscuit ratio of a standard Pocky stick (see screencap below)

- Then, while they’re at that state of health, they need to K.O. their opponent to score a special “Pocky K.O.”
- Once that’s done, players can send a clip to the Pocky K.O. Checker for confirmation. Be sure to tag it with the hashtag #PockyKO.
If your clip is selected, it will be displayed during the upcoming Capcom Cup in 15th and 16th December. 11 clips will be eligible for screening (and selected worldwide), so hop to it and get to streaming & recording!
If that wasn’t enough Pocky, a special exhibition match will also take place at the event. Here, professional players will engage in a special Capcom Cup Pocky Challenge, held on an exclusive UI variant of SFV dubbed Street Fighter V: Pocky Edition.
This being a cross-promotion marketing thang, Glico will be releasing Street Fighter-branded Pocky to commemorate the occasion. It contains the following:
- 1x Limited-Edition SFV Pocky box
- 3x Pocky Chocolate
- 3x Pocky Strawberry
- 3x Pocky Cookies & Cream

Jesus, that box art is reminiscent of that Street Fighter story arc by Malibu Comics. You can order it here on Asian Food Center (US-based, by the by) starting 13th December.
