Frozen 2 Is Now The Highest-Grossing Animated Film Of All Time
The first Frozen wasn’t just an animated movie. It was a cultural phenomenon that inspired every little girl to dress up and shout “Let it go!” at the top of their lungs. It wasn’t hard to predict that a sequel would also be phenomenal.

According to a report by Variety, Frozen 2 is officially the highest-grossing animated movie of all time. It has generated more than US$1.3 billion at the global box office. It’s also currently the 14th highest-grossing film of all time.
The Lion King remake actually made more money (US$ 1.6 billion) than Frozen 2 but Disney considers it to be a “live-action reboot” rather than an animated film. In that case, the second highest-grossing animated movie is actually the first Frozen (US$1.2 billion).
2019 was a great year for Disney. They released massive titles like Avengers: Endgame, The Lion King, Toy Story 4, Frozen 2, and ended the year with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. It’s all very impressive but also a very scary view of what monopoly looks like.
