The Resident Evil 3 REmake and the Project Resistance multiplayer aren’t the only things Capcom is cooking in its own lab.

According to rumours from Biohazard Declassified and Twitter user Nibel, we might be getting a new first-person Resident Evil title. Here’s the breakdown:

• The game will not be called Resident Evil 8, but will have a “clever title”.
• Ethan from RE7 will be returning as a playable character; the game will retain its first-person view like in RE7.
• The game was apparently tested last year.
• The game’s new setting will be a rural, snowy, mountain-filled area set in Europe. The level design will start from a village and will lead up to a castle.
• The enemies this time will be zombies just like in RE2. However, there will also be “wolf-like” creatures that assault players in certain areas and a persistent shadowy “female” enemy that hounds you until you shoot it.
• RE’s cauliflower biceps representative Chris Redfield will be returning.
• No platforms for the game has been confirmed or leaked yet. We’re going to guess “PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC” for this one.

It matches with stuff I've been hearing which is why I went forward with it

If this is all true, then I’m actually glad that the series is sticking to its more terrifying FPS viewpoint for the numbered sequels going forward. Bonus points if it’s VR-enabled and comes with a creepy version of an old folk song.
