Google Sets Up New Stadia Studio Led By God Of War Executive Producer
By Melvyn Tan|March 5, 2020|0 Comment
Google has set up a new Stadia game development studio in Playa Vista, California, revealed Jade Raymond, the VP and Head of Stadia Games and Entertainment in a blog post.
She also announced that the new Playa Vista studio will be led by Shannon Studstill, the executive producer of 2018’s God of War. Studstill was previously the boss of Sony Santa Monica, and was involved in games ranging from the God of War series, The Order: 1886, and Twisted Metal.
“The new Playa Vista studio will focus on delivering exclusive games, using new gameplay mechanics, creative ways to play together and unique interaction models that we’re just starting to explore,” said Raymond.
“While we’re not ready to share specific game plans yet, rest assured we are listening to what gamers want and adding our own Stadia twists to create new IP and experiences.”
We previously wrote about the lack of game releases on the Stadia. Hopefully, the combined efforts of the Playa Vista studio and the previous Montreal studio can change things.
In the meantime, it seems that The Division 2 and its Warlords of New York expansion are heading to the platform, as reported by Eurogamer.
