Halo Combat Evolved Is Finally Back On PC (Again)

In a surprising move by developer 343 Industries, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary is now available on PC (again). Originally ported to the PC in 2003, this latest version of the classic game is a remaster, allowing players to switch between the original graphics or the enhanced updated visuals.

This is the second game in Halo The Master Chief Collection to launch on PC following Halo: Reach back in December 2019. Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary for PC also features:

  • New Spartan customization 3D model viewer.
  • Ability to toggle between Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary and Halo: Combat Evolved Classic audio for multiplayer.
  • Mouse + Keyboard input support.
  • Customizable key bindings.
  • Variable Frame Rate (VFR) support (experimental feature).
  • Adjustable FOV (experimental feature).
  • Ultrawide and alternate resolution support.
  • Text chat.
  • Updated crouch/movement mechanic for mouse + keyboard user.
  • Push-to-talk voice chat.
  • Push-to-talk key binding.
  • Separated key-bindings on a per-title basis.
  • Datacenter ping values are now visible.
  • Message of the Day added.
  • Updated zoom controls.

You can purchase Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary for only RM23.50 on Steam or grab the entire Halo TheMaster Chief Collection for RM65. It’s also available on the Microsoft Store, and the Xbox Game Pass.

The next title slated for release as part of the Halo The Master Chief Collection is Halo 2: Anniversary, though the developer has yet to announce a release date or window. In the meantime, check out the trailer below, or head on over here for our review of Halo Reach on PC.
