Here are the video walkthroughs & playthroughs for each No Straight Roads boss. We’ll also list down the key differences between each boss’ difficulty level, because there’s a lot to keep track.

DJ Subatomic Supernova

Hard

  • DJ Subatomic Supernova has more health.
  • The planets now orbit counter-clockwise
  • Almost all orbit lanes will be occupied by a planet attack.
  • In the final phase when he’s chasing you in the white background, the DJ will suck in regular planets you have to dodge. Keep an eye out for the colour of each incoming planet; if it’s pink, you’re good to parry.

Crazy

  • DJ will have even more health.
  • ALL lanes will be occupied by attacking planets, but one of them will have a pink planet you can parry.
  • In the third phase when he realigns the solar system lines and attacks you with planets from diagonal pathways, these attacks will be pink. Parry them when they’re cued.

Parry Mode

  • Since you can’t collect music notes for projectile attacks, you have to parry the attacking planets. All the lanes in each phase will have at least a planet you can parry.
  • If you want a faster time to complete this battle, you will need to rely on Mayday and Zuke’s Mod attacks and their respective skill trees that grant them ammunition from a successful parry.

Sayu

Hard

  • Sayu has more health.
  • At the very start of battle, the 5 pen nibs that encircle the player will pop up. Just do a jump and ground pound attack to get rid of them.
  • At this point in the game, you should have the double jump and air dash. These will help you avoid most of Sayu’s obstacles until the end.
  • When Sayu goes to her second last phase (when she’s angry at you), you can start parrying the pen nibs since they’re now pink.
