Deathloop Is Delayed To Mid-2021
By Jonathan Toyad|August 19, 2020|0 Comment
Bad news for fans of sexy 60s-style duelling assassin combat. Arkane Studio will be delaying its upcoming game Deathloop from its Holiday 2020 release date to the second quarter of 2021.
Thanks to the difficulties of developing a game during the pandemic, the studio is forced to delay the game further so that it’s ready. Official statement from Arkane Lyon is below:
“As we’ve adjusted to work-from-home, we found that delivering this new and exciting experience, at the polish and quality level that defines both an Arkane game and a true next-gen experience, is taking longer than normal.
This extra time will allow our team to bring Deathloop’s world to life with as much character and fun as you’ve come to expect from our team. While we know this is the right decision for Deathloop, we share your disappointment, and apologize for making you wait even longer.”

While it’s best that a game doesn’t get released undercooked and underdeveloped, it does mean that the upcoming next-gen PlayStation 5 will be short of one game. For those who don’t know, Deathloop is a first-person shooter about two assassins: one who wants to get out of the island he’s stuck in due to a time loop and another who is having the time of her life and doesn’t want the first guy to ruin it.
