PlayStation’s Malaysia Studio To Be Helmed By Ex-MDEC Head Honcho
By Kakuchopurei|October 5, 2020|0 Comment
Last year during Level Up KL 2019, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that they were going to open a new PlayStation studio in Malaysia. Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (SIE WWS Malaysia) will provide art and animation services as part of SIE WWS activities, developing PlayStation exclusive titles.
Earlier today, former MDEC Vice President of Digital Creative Content Hasnul Hadi Samsudin has revealed (via Linkedin) that today marks the first day of his new job as the head of Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (SIE WWS Malaysia).

Mr. Hasnul has played an integral role in developing the local digital creative content in Malaysia for the past few years through his capacity in various roles from within government and private sector.
He has previously acted as the Head of the MSC Malaysia Animation and Creative Content Center (MAC3) and a senior manager at Oscar-winning visual effects studio Rhythm & Hues Malaysia.
His passion as an avid gamer and lover of animation and films drives his work, and we at Kakuchopurei would like to congratulate him on his new role as the head of Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (SIE WWS Malaysia).
It will be exciting to see what the new studio has in store for the Malaysian games industry in the near future. Perhaps a PS5 official price and pre-order announcement is on the horizon? Stay tuned on Kakuchopurei.
