The Mandalorian’s Pedro Pascal Debunks Helmet Rumours
By Alleef Ashaari|December 16, 2020|0 Comment
There’s been a rumour going around that The Mandalorian lead actor Pedro Pascal (who plays Din Djarin) doesn’t like wearing the helmet.
Fans have cited the fact that Din Djarin has removed his helmet twice as proof of this, as well as reports from sources like American journalist Grace Randolph claiming behind the scenes drama due to Pascal’s dissatisfaction.
In an interview on the live British talk show The One Show, Pascal has officially denied these rumours. He explains that he understands the narrative purpose of the helmet in The Mandalorian.
He said:
“That is not true actually.
It’s a really wonderful way of telling the story.
It’s always been a very clear creed for the character, and the collaborative process of the whole thing has been, we’ve all been on the same page with this, I think.
So I, you know, what I want is for them to make the best show possible, however, they get that done.
Din Djarin has actually only removed his helmet twice in two seasons of The Mandalorian so far, both of which served the narrative at hand. The first was when he needed dire medical attention at the end of Season 1 and the other was during last week’s episode when he needed to do something drastic to save Grogu/Baby Yoda.
The Mandalorian Season 2 finale premieres later this week, while The Mandalorian Season 3 is set to premiere on Christmas 2021.
