Disney has announced that Black Widow has been delayed to 9 July 2021. It will be released simultaneously on both Disney Plus Premier Access for the additional price of US$30 and in cinemas.
Meanwhile, Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings has been delayed to 3 September 2021, but it remains an exclusively theatrical release for now.
Black Widow and Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings were originally slated to release on 7 May 2021 and 9 July 2021, respectively.
In Black Widow, Natasha Romanoff confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger.
Directed by Cate Shortland and produced by Kevin Feige, the movie stars Scarlett Johansson reprising her role as Natasha Romanoff. Florence Pugh stars as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov aka Red Guardian, and Rachel Weisz as Melina Vostokoff.
Marvel Studios’ Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings stars Simu Liu stars as Shang-Chi, who must confront the past he thought he left behind when he is drawn into the web of the mysterious Ten Rings organization. The film’s cast also includes Tony Leung as Wenwu, Awkwafina as Shang-Chi’s friend Katy, and Michelle Yeoh as Jiang Nan. Additionally, Fala Chen, Meng’er Zhang, Florian Munteanu and Ronny Chieng appear in the upcoming movie, which is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton.
Alongside Black Widow, the Cruella movie starring Emma Stone will also be released on Disney Plus Premier Access the same day as cinemas on 28 May 2021.
The upcoming Pixar movie Luca will be available exclusively on Disney Plus on 18 June 2021 for no additional cost. However, Luca will be released in cinemas in markets where Disney Plus is not available.
