Crystal Dynamics Hires Marvel Heroes Developer To Fix Its Own Marvel Game

It’s no secret that Square Enix’s and Crystal Dynamics’ Marvel Avengers is a game that isn’t getting any better with its player base. The fact that the game has you fighting the same mobs and factions over and over, along with the Destiny live service-style structure and grind equals a banal experience using the Marvel brand.

Thankfully, Crystal Dynamics is getting some outside help in the form of Brian Waggoner, a game designer from former company Gazillion. If that company sounds familiar, that’s because it was responsible for the action RPG title Marvel Heroes, a really fun online game that was unceremoniously cancelled because of Disney’s change in game-making direction. Not really a smart decision in hindsight, as you can tell by the lack of reception for Marvel’s Avengers.

His new role will be system designer for Marvel’s Avengers. Here’s the last quote he posted up about the new job change:

We’ll believe it when we see it, but hopefully one of the folks behind Marvel Heroes can help right the wrongs of Marvel’s Avengers.
