Xbox Singapore Upgrades To Southeast Asia [Update]
By Alleef Ashaari|April 10, 2021|0 Comment
Xbox doesn’t offer official regional support in most Southeast Asian countries, with the exception of Singapore. This includes Malaysia, Thailand and others, but all of that might change soon.
In an unexpected turn of events, the official Facebook account for Xbox Singapore is now Xbox SEA for some reason. You can find the Xbox SEA Facebook page here.
What’s even more interesting is that the new Xbox SEA account has recently posted two new updates in Malay and Thai, respectively, to promote tonight’s Age Of Empires Fan Preview (which will reveal more details and information about the upcoming Age Of Empires IV).

While it is not explicitly mentioned or announced, perhaps this new Xbox SEA Facebook account could indicate that official regional support might finally arrive in Malaysia, Thailand and other countries in Southeast Asia.
[Update: 12/4/2021] Or not. Here’s an official update sent to us from an Xbox spokesperson regarding game distribution outside of Singapore.“Initial availability for the Xbox Series X|S will be in existing Xbox markets globally, with no immediate plans to expand this list. Singapore is currently the only market in SEA where the Xbox Series X|S can be purchased by fans in retail and via the Microsoft Store.
The focus in regard to our Facebook page change is to help us to connect with gamers in local and relevant ways across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines. We want to expand our connections with new SEA markets to support our PC gaming business in these countries on Microsoft Store and Steam. This reflects our commitment to gaming for everyone and we’re looking forward to continuing to engage gamers across the SEA region on Console and PC.
In the meantime, stay tuned on Kakuchopurei. You can head on over here for our thoughts and review of both the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
