The First Look At Netflix’s Cowboy Bebop Adaptation Intro Is A Thing, I Guess…
The Netflix TUDUM fan event has a slew of reveals and teasers of upcoming new shows; one of them is the currently maligned-before-it’s-even-out-the-door adaptation of Cowboy Bebop.
After a bunch of still shots of the cast -John Cho, Mustafa Shakir, and Daniella Pineda as Spike, Jet Black, and Faye Valentine respectively- in what seems to be glorified cosplay, we get to see the live-action show’s version of the classic anime intro.
It’s a choice, I’ll tell you that.
It’s got a 60s pulp action vibe going on, and cheesy as all heck. The intro also teases the different villains and bounties from the classic anime series, including our first look at Spike’s rival Vicious and his beau Julia.
Watch it and judge it for yourself; it’s probably not for me since I can just watch the original anime series in my own spare time. But for those who really just want to see a live-action adaptation of a classic series, they have this intro to salivate.
The series will be out this 19th November. We’ll be sure to give this live-action adaptation a chance when it’s out then; it’s at least keeping it colourful and campy. And they have the corgi Ein, so that’s something, I guess.
