MPL Malaysia Season 9 Ban MIKEY & HomeBois Players For Collusion

It’s a sad day to find out that teams have been cheating in a major esports tournament in Malaysia. The MPL Malaysia League has received complaints regarding unfair play during the MPL MY Season 9 qualifiers involving two teams: MIKEY and HomeBois.

During the match involving the two teams, the two of them colluded via signalling one another and providing coaching during the game, thus giving the advantage to MIKEY. The following will be punished for their misconduct:

Team MIKEY

  • Muhammad “Squpoz” Zafri – Banned from participating in MPL MY for one season (S9)
  • Muhammad “Flint” Azim – Banned from participating in MPL MY for one season (S9)
  • Sufyan “Pyan” Nurhidayat – Banned from participating in MPL MY for one season (S9)
  • Boy “Ombong” Salica – Banned from participating in MPL MY for one season (S9)
  • Tuan Azrin “Avaaa” Izzudin – Banned from participating in the MLBB ecosystem for two years.
  • MIKEY team – MIKEY as an organisation will be permanently banned from the MLBB ecosystem.

HomeBois

  • Muhammad “Ijat” Aizat – Banned for two seasons (MPL MY S9 and MPL MY S10).
  • HomeBois team – Deduction of 2 weeks RS match points loss (4 matches * 2 points = -8)
2 weeks stipend will be forfeited.

Long story short, MIKEY will not be competing in Mobile Legends for a very long time, while Homebois get the lesser sentence, with Ijat solely getting banned for two seasons for the collusion effort. Because of this, the Axis Esports spot for Season 9 will be forfeited; MIKEY has given up their slot for Axis Esports.

MPL Malaysia will re-run the qualifiers between Team Lemah and MAB Esports on 13 February, 2pm.
