VTuber Rushia Is Terminated From Hololive For Leaking Private Info

VTuber Uruha Rushia, known for being the “boing boing” girl, recently had her contract with Hololive Production terminated for allegedly violating it and leaking private information.

Hololive Production stated the following about the termination:

Regarding ‘Uruha Rushia,’ it has been apparent for some time that she has been distributing false information to third parties and has been leaking information, including communications regarding business matters. We have been investigating the facts related to these matters.

With respect to the above, we were able to confirm that she engaged in acts that: violated her contract by leaking information that she acquired from the company as well as communication over SNS [social media], both of which she has a responsibility to protect; and caused the company to suffer reputational damage, such as by publicizing falsehoods to various related parties. As a result, we, as a company, have determined that it has become difficult to continue managing and supporting her and have elected to make this decision.

How did this happen? Turns out that Rushia may have had a relationship with online singer Mafumafu, to the point where she allegedly divulged personal info with the male singer (via Anime News Network). Mafumafu clarified that he is just good friends with Rushia through games (Apex Legends).

Here’s a breakdown of it; it’s in Japanese but the comments in the video can help clarify it. Basically Rushia talked to Mafumafu and another YouTuber, and somehow the info leaked and people involved in making the VTuber do her thing are doxxed.

It’s sad that her contract is terminated like this, but that’s the price you pay if you’re not careful. Before all this, Rushia has made bank as a 3rd generation Hololive talent, with her earnings from Superchat being US$3.2 million in total.
