Coffee Talk Fundraiser Raises More Than US$100K For The Late Fahmi’s Family

Last month, Toge Productions started a fundraising initiative, where all the proceeds from the sales of Coffee Talk will be donated to the family of the late Mohammad Fahmi. It ran from 31 March to 4 April 2022, with the game being discounted. According to the developer, they sold 37,322 copies of Coffee Talk on Steam with total gross revenue of US$257,330.

However, after deducting Steam’s platform cut (30%), taxes (approx 10%), and refunds (approx 5%), the estimated revenue to be donated to the late Fahmi’s family is around 55% to 60% of the total gross revenue. According to our calculations, that translates to roughly US$150K+.

However, that’s only from the sales of the game on Steam. The console version of the game has yet to be accounted for, which the developer will announce at a later date.

Part of the developer’s statement on Steam reads:

We would also like to thank everyone who participated and contributed to this fundraising effort. Even with a simple act of sharing the news about this fundraiser, you have made a huge impact. We appreciate each and every bit of support we have received. Thank you for all of your kind and heartwarming messages you have left in support of Fahmi and his family. It’s beautiful to see that Fahmi is loved by so many people from all around the world.

Earlier today, Pikselnesia and Rolling Glory Jam also announced that all proceeds from What Comes After (another of the deceased Fahmi’s works) on Steam will donated to the family of the late Fahmi as well.
