We’re Getting A Minecraft Movie From Warner Bros. Starring Jason Momoa

Aquaman star Jason Momoa will be getting a video game movie role soon.

Warner Bros. will be producing a live-action Minecraft movie with director Jared Hess in the helm. Jason Momoa himself is currently in final negotiations for the lead role of the video game adaptation.

Dune producer Mary Parent and Roy Lee will produce the film (via Hollywood Reporter), with executive producers Jon Berg, Cale Boyter, and Jon Spaihts in tow. The film will also have a posthumous producing credit for Jill Messick before her death in 2018.

Minecraft will be the latest in line of movies based on video games, which are currently hot right now. Both Sonic The Hedgehog films and Detective Pikachu have done very well in worldwide box offices. For more on the latest video game movie, check out our review of Sonic The Hedgehog 2.
