Psychonauts 2 May Be Double Fine’s Best-Selling Game To Date

Double Fine may be a critical darling among game reviewers thanks to its creative games, but its sales numbers aren’t exactly anything to shout about. That changes now, as Psychonauts 2 is the company’s “highest-rated and best-selling game to date”.

The news came from art director Lisette Titre-Montgomery, who has now left the studio.

“April Fools Day was my last day at Double Fine. I have learned so much over the past four years+ about who I am as a leader and what it means to be a creative visionary. Thank you for trusting me to bring the world of Psychonauts 2 to life.

My leadership resulted in shipping the company’s highest rated and best selling game to date.”

While the tweet didn’t post actual numbers, it alludes that the game may have sold over 1.7 million copies if it’s verified.
