Video Game Console Chip Shortages Will Last Until 2024 According To Intel CEO

The global shortage of semiconductors will last until 2024, according to a warning from Intel’s CEO Pat Gelsinger.
According to a CNBC Data Check segment, Gelsinger said that his prediction that stated that the shortage would last in 2023 has changed due to key manufacturing tools not being ready. This means that there aren’t enough cyhips being made to supply demand.
“That’s part of the reason that we believe the overall semiconductor shortage will now drift into 2024, from our earlier estimates in 2023, just because the shortages have now hit equipment and some of those factory ramps will be more challenged.”
Keep in mind that this is a prediction, though an educated one at that due to Intel being the lead in making console chipsets and graphic cards. Xbox boss Phil Spencer said console supply issues will last for the whole of 2022, while AMD CEO Lisa Su expects the second half of 2022 to see an increase in supplies. If that’s the case, you better buy that next-gen console while you can lest they run out.
