The Assistant Held A Star-Studded Gala Premiere At GSC Starling Mall

Sony Pictures Entertainment Malaysia and Act 2 Pictures held a star-studded gala premiere of The Assistant at GSC The Starling Mall on 11 May 2022. It featured attendance from huge stars, media and VIPs like Yang Hormat Dato’ Sri Khalid bin Mohamad Jiwa and wife Dato Sri Siti Nurhaliza. We were able to attend the premiere as well, catching a special screening of the movie along with the cast and crew of the film.

Written, directed, and produced by Adrian Teh, this film will be the first local action blockbuster to hit cinemas since the theatrical industry reopened. The film has recently made history with two International Film Fest Recognition.

Director Adrian Teh stated:

“We are excited and looking forward to the premiere of “The Assistant”, We hope that the moviegoers across Malaysia will support and enjoy our film.”

The action-thriller tells the story of Zafik (Iedil Dzuhrie) who was wrongfully imprisoned. After losing everything, he meets Feroz (Hairul Azreen) who seems to always show up at just the right time. As time goes on, will Zafik find out Feroz’s true motives? The film also stars Henley Hii as Sam and Farali Khan as Sofia.

The Assistant is the fifth collaboration between Adrian Teh and Hairul Azreen who also collaborated on PASKAL: The Movie (2018), WIRA (2019), Pasal Kau (2020) and Ada Hantu (2021).
