Walt Disney Animation Studios has unveiled the first trailer for their next animated movie, Strange World. It’s by classic pulp science-fiction, so it’s something new and unique from the House Of Mouse.

It’s been a long time since we’ve received a proper sci-fi animated movie from Disney. Besides perhaps Wreck-It Ralph (if we even count that), the last good and underrated ones were 2002’s Treasure Planet and 2001’s Atlantis The Lost Empire.

Jake Gyllenhaal lends his voice to Searcher Clade, the son of a steadfast explorer. The original action-adventure journeys deep into an uncharted and treacherous land where fantastical creatures await the legendary Clades, a family of explorers whose differences threaten to topple their latest, and by far, most crucial mission.

Helmed by Don Hall (Big Hero 6, Raya And The Last Dragon) and co-director/writer Qui Nguyen (Raya And The Last Dragon), and produced by Roy Conli (Big Hero 6, Tangled), Strange World releases on 23 November 2022.
