Persona Live-Action TV Shows & Movies Are In The Works By Sega

Sega is working on adapting Atlus’ popular Persona franchise into live-action TV series and movie adaptations

Speaking with IGN, Toru Nakahara, Sega lead producer on the live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movies and Sonic Prime TV series, as well as head of entertainment productions for film and TV, said:

“Atlus’ worlds are filled with high drama, cutting-edge style and compelling characters. Stories like those from the Persona franchise really resonate with our fans and we see an opportunity to expand the lore like no one has seen — or played — before. Together, Sega and Atlus, are working to bring these stories and worlds to life through new mediums and for new audiences.”

However, Sega didn’t confirm which production companies that they’re looking to work with, but they did confirm that they’re currently exploring live-action film and TV projects with various studios and producers.

The Persona franchise is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2022, so it’s the best time for an announcement like this. Recently, they also announced that Persona 5 Royal, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 3 Portable are releasing on current consoles like PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Let’s hope that Sega can repeat the success of their live-action Sonic The Hedgehog movies with the Persona franchise.
