More Fatal Fury/Garou: Mark Of The Wolves 2 Info Details Single-Player Mode & Terry Bogard

Early this August, fighting game fans at EVO 2022 and viewers online get to see SNK debut the teaser to Garou: Mark of the Wolves 2, a sequel to the hit 1999 arcade 2D fighting game that gave Street Fighter 3: Third Impact a run for its money. We now know a bit more beyond the initial reveal.

According to a Twinfinite news piece, the game’s chief producer Yasuyuki Oda and associate producer Joshua Weatherford shared a bit more. SNK considers Garou: Mark of the Wolves 2/the new Fatal Fury a big release game, and has been in development before its reveal. The team wanted to keep it hush-hush until EVO 2022 because they wanted it to be perfect.

Furthermore, the game’s single-player mode will play a more important role, most likely to continue the story of Rock Howard post-MOTW and the rest of Southtown’s denizens and fighters. The developers admit that there’s been a large gap story-wise between MOTW and new KOF games now, but they have plans to fix that. We’re thinking a compendium or even a story recap in visual novel form.

The game will still focus on online and VS play. And most importantly, Terry Bogard is also confirmed to be on the game’s roster. Hey, at least we know the Saudi Arabia funding SNK received is heading towards something positive for old-school fighting game fans, right?
