Inti Creates Is Making A Castlevania Tribute With Grim Guardians: Demon Purge
With the work it has done for the Bloodstained 2D pixel side games, Inti Creates would be a shoe-in to make a full-fledged 2D action game in the veins of the Castlevania series.
Wouldn’t you know it, that’s what it’s working on right now. The company that made the Mega Man Zero and Azure Striker Gunvolt series (and GalGun) has announced a side-scrolling action platformer title called Grim Guardians: Demon Purge for PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
You play as two demon hunters simultaneously as they rid the demons plaguing their school, which has transformed into a demon castle. The first sister Shinobu has long-ranged attacks (via her SMG) while the other sister Maya has melee slashes, so you have to switch between them back and forth. There’s even a 2-player mode for maximum demon slaying in 2D glory; you can even control one sister to stand atop the other as a platform in vertical situations.
