The Amazon EA Acquisition Is Not Happening After All

It looks like earlier reports and premature rumours of the Amazon EA acquisition turned out to be inaccurate.

It all started when USA Today sources claimed that Amazon will formally announce its offer to purchase EA earlier today. However, CNBC has since refuted that claim.

Speaking on CNBC, reporter David Faber said:

“I have talked to some people who would actually know if there’s something going on, and they say there’s nothing going on.”

That was after EA stock price increased as a result of the Amazon EA acquisition rumour, climbing a whopping 15 percent. However, as more reports come out refuting that claim, EA stock prices have begun decreasing and returning back to normal.

With all these reports swirling, it’s better to wait for Amazon or EA themselves to officially confirm or deny the rumours. At the time of writing, there has been no official statement from either side.
