Guilty Gear Strive Major Updates To Be Out This December

Arc System Works announced during the ArcRevo Japan 2022 esports fighting game tournament that its major Guilty Gear Strive update will be out on 15th December GMT+8.

Here’s what you can expect from the update:

Battle Balance Changes For All Characters

The big balance patch for GGST will add buffs for characters other than the highly rated ones in the roster. The buff will remove the gap in character strength rather than making overall improvements or additions.

The update will also revise opportunities for landing highly damaging combos, increasing base damage scaling for some attacks excluding close standing S and other specific attacks.

The update will increase the reward when the defender goes for the counter-offensive. This means the Tension Gauge gain and RISC Level depletion rate will be adjusted, depending on the situation.

Network Mode Updates

The game will show connection strength and ping with opponents, as well as reduce the loading time of the R-Code top screen.

Other options include skipping the Rating Update sequence (via Settings), the option to rematch up to 3 matches even if a Rating Update occurs mid set, the option to manually select a room when there are multiple rooms per floor, and adjust conditions for rating changes, thus making it easier to match with opponents at the same skill level.

Crossplay Implementation

The Xbox version of GGST will have crossplay support for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, Windows, and Xbox Game Pass. This will be out in 2023.

More details on the update will be shared at a later date, at least before 15th December.
