Squanch Games’ first-person shooter with the talking guns, High On Life, has received mixed reviews. That didn’t really bother most people as High On Life is currently the most popular game on Xbox Game Pass right now. It’s currently holding the top spot above Minecraft, Forza Horizon 5, FIFA 22, and LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

The game also sold well at full price, taking 5th place in the Xbox’s sales rankings just below Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, FIFA 23, and Madden NFL 23.

So how’s the game? It’s decent according to us at the office, but it’s dependent on your tastes. If you love Rick & Morty’ brand of humour, High On Life might feel derivative, or it could be what you need: more of it. Its gunplay is decent and has some neat gun and secondary fire ideas, but it does have a few technical hiccups frame-rate-wise. If you have Xbox Game Pass, you might as well give it a shot as it’s free.
