Kakuchopurei Best 30 Games Of 2022: #22

For the rest of the list, head here. For #23, head here.

#22. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (PS5, Xbox Series X | S, PS4, Xbox One, PC)

Developers Infinity Ward had their work cut out for them no thanks to their own blockbuster success in MW 2019 which was the ‘reboot’ of their fan favourite, 2007’s Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

So how do you top a runaway hit? Well, instead of making things bigger and louder – something CoD games are synonymous with, they instead brought the fight to ground level for more intimate, close-quarters gun battles without sacrificing the pace and tight gunplay.

The campaign in MWII was a fun ride with Task Force 141 which was reintroduced at the end of the prequel, whilst the gunplay in the multiplayer mode is as fun, if not, more enjoyable than ever. The pace is more deliberate, rewarding all styles of play and the camo grind is more streamlined now. The introduction of DMZ mode brings new ways to enjoy the CoD universe and while battle royale rats may encounter bugs and a steep learning curve in Warzone 2.0, they are already playing the best battle royale in the market right now.

True, battle royale isn’t for everyone but with Warzone 2.0, Infinity Ward released a battle royale for all kinds of BR players out there.
